Database Features:
- number of supported databases: unlimited
- types of supported spectra: all spectral types which are supported by Epina ImageLab
- max number of database entries: limited by available disk space (1000 entries require typically between 20 and 30 MB, depending on the type of the spectra)
- design size of database: 100000 entries (this is not a hard limit, just an optimisation criterion for the database software)
- predefined properties:
- unique database item identifier
- date/time stamp
- molecular formula (max. 20 different elements)
- author or source of the spectrum (max. 255 characters)
- name of item/spectrum/substance (max. 255 characters)
- comment (max. 255 characters)
- keywords for indexing the spectra (max. 255 characters)
- class number (integer value)
- spectral type
- position of the spectrum if taken from an image, or the area in the case of an mean spectrum
- status flag (16 user-definable binary flags)
- user-defined properties: unlimited (depends on available disk space)
the user can define any number of additional database fields ("properties")
- types of user-defined properties: string, double, integer, logical tri-state (yes-no-unknown)
